Tampa DSA has multiple member-led working groups that focus on specific issues. You can find each working group’s events and meetings on the main chapter calendar.
International Solidarity
As democratic socialists, we believe we must also be internationalists. Billionaires, banks, and multinational corporations work together across borders to maintain their class power. To defeat them we must unite and build global solidarity. Our working group’s organizing focuses on Palestine solidarity, ending the blockade on Cuba, migrant justice, and anti-imperialist political education.
EcoSocialist
EcoSocialism recognizes the interconnectedness of social and environmental injustices–from lack of public transit to greater levels of pollution in low-income and BIPOC communities, and beyond. EcoSocialists not only stand with the environment, but also stand against capitalism, imperialism, and all forms of systemic oppression to transform society for the good of both people and planet.
Labor
Need support organizing your workplace? Interested in labor history? Help build the labor movement and join the labor working group!
Membership
The Tampa DSA Membership Committee is involved in onboarding new members to the organization, hosting social events, coordinating trainings, and tabling at community events. Help us grow and develop our chapter!
Mutual Aid
Mutual aid is a key component in building community power and resilience. Our working group has initiated brake light clinics, community gardens, skill sharing projects, disaster relief, and more! Join us so we can continue to strengthen our mutual aid networks.
