Welcome to the Tampa Bay DSA Convention webpage!

This November, we will hold our very first Chapter Convention and Steering Committee Elections!  Internal democracy is a critical part of a Socialist membership organization like DSA.  This exciting event will be a wonderful opportunity for the membership to present, debate and vote on new proposals and ideas.  You must be a dues paying member of DSA in good standing to vote and debate in the convention.  All members are strongly encouraged to attend!
When: November 17th, 2018 from 3-7pm
Where: National Nurses United union hall in Ybor City.  Address is 1406 N. 19th St. Tampa, FL 33605

On Saturday, November 17th, our Chapter Convention will hold space for us to gather for a four part meeting: (1) Year in Review, (2) Bylaws Amendments, (3) Chapter Resolutions, (4) Steering Committee Elections.  Our normally scheduled General Meeting for November 14th will be moved to accomodate the convention on the weekend.  During our first Convention, we will celebrate our chapter’s last Year in Review with a photo and video slideshow to highlight our achievements and reflect on its challenges, submitted by the membership of course!  Next we will have the opportunity to engage in comradely debate on political and internal resolutions, as well as on amendments to our bylaws as we create and expand our internal structures to support the growth of our chapter.  And last, we will host a candidate forum and elect our chapter’s leadership for next term, for the positions of co-chairs (2), secretary, treasurer, social media manager and organizers (5).

If you are interested in participating but have questions, or would like to connect with others to work on drafting a resolution or bylaw amendment, please respond to this email and a member of our Steering Committee will answer your request.
